Southwestern Commission

The Southwestern North Carolina Planning and Economic Development Commission, also known as the Southwestern Commission, is one of the 17 regional North Carolina Councils of Government (COG). Serving the western region of the state (Region A), the Southwestern Commission, like all COGs, was established by the North Carolina General Assembly for the purpose of regional planning and administration. Headquartered in Sylva, North Carolina, it serves Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Swain, Haywood, Jackson, and Macon counties.
